About “Book of Jin”
The Book of Jin is part of the Twenty-Four Histories and documents the history of the Jin dynasty from 266 to 420. It was compiled in 648 under the direction of chancellor Fang Xuanling, with assistance from officials appointed by the Tang dynasty's imperial court. The work relied mainly on official records from earlier archives. Some essays in specific volumes were written by Emperor Taizong of Tang.
