About “Brihatkatha”
Bṛhatkathā is an ancient Indian epic attributed to Guṇāḍhya, written in the obscure language of Paiśācī. The original text is lost, but it inspired several later adaptations. These include the Kathāsaritsāgara, Bṛhatkathāmañjarī, and Bṛhatkathāślokasaṃgraha, all composed in Sanskrit. Additionally, vernacular adaptations such as the Peruṅkatai and Vasudevahiṃḍi reference the original work.
