About “Canticle of the Sun”
The Canticle of the Sun, also known as Canticle of the Creatures and Laudes Creaturarum, is a religious song composed by Saint Francis of Assisi. It was written in an Umbrian dialect of Italian and has been translated into many languages. The work is considered the first known literary piece in the Italian language with a documented author.
