About “Chaitanya Bhagavata”
Śrī Caitanya-bhāgavata is a hagiography of Caitanya Mahāprabhu written by Vrindavana Dasa Thakura. It was the first full-length work about Caitanya Mahāprabhu in the Bengali language and covers his early life and role as the founder of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition. The text describes Caitanya's theological position as an avatar combining Radha and Krishna, as understood by his close associates and followers. The work was commissioned by Nityananda, who was the guru of Vrindavana Dasa Thakura and a close friend of Caitanya Mahāprabhu. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
