About “Cleansed”

Cleansed is the third play by English playwright Sarah Kane. It premiered in 1998 at the Royal Court Theatre Downstairs in London. The play takes place in a university that functions as an institution meant to remove society’s "undesirables." A group of inmates attempts to save themselves through love while under the control of the sadistic character Tinker.
