About “Dasam Granth”
The Dasam Granth is a collection of poetic works attributed to Guru Gobind Singh. It is distinct from the Guru Granth Sahib, as it emphasizes martial themes and imagery, including warfare and weaponry, known as bir ras. This contrasts with the Guru Granth Sahib, which focuses on spiritual themes, or shanti ras. According to scholars Kamalroop Singh and Gurinder Singh Mann, the text was created to prepare Sikhs for conflict with their Mughal adversaries.
