About “Dear America”

Catharine Carey Logan and her family live peacefully thanks to a trusting relationship between Quakers and Delaware Indians, until violence against the Indians threatens that friendship. Catharine and her brother are taken captive by the Lenape in retaliation. Though initially afraid, Catharine comes to see, through a brave who teaches her Lenape ways, that all people share the same joys, hopes, and fears.
