About “Dehname”
Dahnama is a poem written in 1506 by Shah Ismail I in Ajami Turkic, an early form of the Azerbaijani language. It is considered a written monument and one of the first poems in Azerbaijani literature. The work was composed in the mathnawi genre, a style of poetry known for its rhyming couplets and narrative structure.
