About “Dialogues of the Gods”
Dialogues of the Gods are twenty-five short dialogues that mock the Homeric portrayal of the Greek gods. Written in the Attic Greek dialect by the Syrian author Lucian of Samosata, the work offers a satirical view of divine behavior. It was translated into Latin around 1518 by Livio Guidolotto, who was the apostolic assistant to Pope Leo X.
