Fahrenheit 451 is a 1953 dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury. It is set in a future American society where books are banned, and firemen are responsible for burning any that are found. The story is told from the perspective of Guy Montag, a fireman who begins to question his role in suppressing literature and knowledge. Over time, he becomes disillusioned with his job and leaves it, choosing instead to protect and preserve books and cultural writings.
