About “Hotel Honolulu”

The Hotel Honolulu is a tourist hotel located on a back street two blocks from the beach in Waikiki, where guests including honeymooners, vacationers, wanderers, soldiers, and families stay in search of sun, love, happiness, or an un-namable longing. The narrator, a writer down on his luck with no experience running a hotel, becomes manager after being hired by Buddy, the boozy owner, and finds the hotel expanding to encompass his entire universe as he becomes immersed in the lives of the guests and the place itself.
