About “Jerusalem”
Jerusalem is a novel by the Swedish writer Selma Lagerlöf, published in two parts in 1901 and 1902. The story spans multiple generations in the 19th century and follows several families in Dalarna, Sweden, as well as a group of Swedish emigrants in Jerusalem. The novel is inspired by a real migration from the parish of Nås in 1896. It explores the experiences of those who left their homeland to settle in a distant land.
