About “Kitab al-Rawd al-Mitar”
Kitāb al-Rawḍ al-miʿṭār fi khabar al-aqṭār is a fourteenth-century Arabic geography written by Muḥammad ibn ʻAbd al-Munʻim al-Ḥimyarī. It serves as a primary source for the history of Muslim Iberia during the Middle Ages, though it draws from the earlier work of Muhammad al-Idrisi. Little is known about the author, except that he was associated with the Hafsid dynasty. The text was edited and translated into French by Évariste Lévi-Provençal in 1938 and into Spanish by María Pilar Maestro González in 1963. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
