About “Léocadia”
Leocadia Gardi is dead, but her ghost continues to haunt Prince Albert. His aunt, the Duchess, seeks to keep Albert's memory of Leocadia alive. She persuades a young milliner, Amanda, who looks like Leocadia, to impersonate her. The plan is uncovered by Albert, who initially is angry but becomes fascinated by the resemblance. The impersonation proves difficult, and a crisis arises when Albert and Amanda realize their mutual feelings. Albert resists the deception, but after a conflict, they part. The Duchess encourages Amanda to help Albert move on from his past. Amanda succeeds in winning Albert's heart through kindness and persistence.
