About “La Géométrie”
La Géométrie was published in 1637 as an appendix to Discours de la méthode, a work by René Descartes. The Discours outlines Descartes' method for achieving clarity and knowledge. La Géométrie was one of three appendices written by Descartes, alongside La Dioptrique and Les Météores. These appendices were included to demonstrate the success of his method in different fields.
