About “Leal conselheiro”
Leal Conselheiro is a 1438 philosophical treatise written by Portuguese king Duarte I. It explores the moral and spiritual aspects of living well and the duties of leadership. The work supports the war against the Moors and addresses proper conduct, including the importance of respecting and obeying one’s father, even when one’s own judgment may differ.
