About “Letters from the Earth”
This 1962 short story collection by Mark Twain includes the eponymous "Letters from the Earth," eleven letters written by Satan to the archangels Gabriel and Michael about his travels. Satan finds human beliefs about themselves almost insane, critiquing their conception of heaven and pointing out God's hypocrisies, including punishing Adam and Eve, forbidding jealousy while calling himself jealous, and killing innocent animals in Noah's flood.
