After college, best friends Erin Kelley and Darcy Scott move to the city to pursue careers as a jewelry designer and decorator, respectively. While helping a TV producer friend research personal ads, Erin disappears and is later found dead on an abandoned Manhattan pier, her body wearing one of her own shoes and one high-heeled dancing slipper, with the killer threatening to continue his pattern by targeting Darcy.
