About “Luther Bible”
The Luther Bible is a German language Bible translation by Martin Luther, a Protestant reformer. A New Testament translation by Luther was first published in September 1522, and the completed Bible, which included the Old Testament, Apocrypha, and New Testament, was printed in 1534. The Bible contained 75 books. Luther continued to refine the text until 1545. This translation was one of the first full Bibles in German that used the original Hebrew and Greek texts, in addition to the Latin Vulgate. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
