About “Luther's Small Catechism”
Luther's Small Catechism is a religious text written by Martin Luther and published in 1529. It was designed to teach basic Christian beliefs to children and everyday Christians. The catechism covers the Ten Commandments, the Apostles' Creed, the Lord's Prayer, baptism, confession, and the Eucharist. It was created to help people understand core Christian teachings and strengthen their faith. Luther wrote it because many people, including some pastors, lacked knowledge of essential Christian principles. He believed everyone should know the basics of the faith, even if they were not scholars. The Small Catechism is still used today in Lutheran worship and education. It is part of the Book of Concord, a collection of Lutheran beliefs. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
