About “Parkinson's law”
"Parkinson's Law" is a satirical essay written by C. Northcote Parkinson, a naval historian, and published in The Economist in 1955. It was written in response to a report from the Royal Commission on the Civil Service. The essay presents two main ideas: first, that work tends to expand to fill the time available for its completion, and second, that the number of workers in public administration often increases regardless of the actual amount of work to be done. The essay introduced the adage that "work expands to fill the time available," which became widely known and discussed. (Summary adapted from Wikipedia, CC BY-SA 4.0.)
