About “Philosophy in the Bedroom”
A 1795 novel by Marquis de Sade. Philosophy in the Boudoir, often mistranslated as Philosophy in the Bedroom, is written in the form of a dramatic dialogue. Set in a boudoir, the two lead characters argue that the only moral system reinforcing the recent political revolution is libertinism, and that France risks returning to a monarchic state if its people fail to adopt it.
