About “Place for Murder”
John Putnam Thatcher, a senior banker at the Sloan Guaranty Trust, is asked by his friend Brad Withers to help negotiate a property settlement in the divorce of Withers' sister and her husband, Gil Austin. Thatcher travels to Shaftesbury, Connecticut, where he becomes involved in the investigation of the murder of Austin’s intended bride, found dead with her neck broken in a closet at a local inn.
