About “Primer nueva corónica y buen gobierno”
El primer nueva corónica y buen gobierno is a Peruvian chronicle completed around 1615 by Felipe Guamán Poma de Ayala. He wrote it as a handwritten manuscript and sent it to King Philip III of Spain. The work provides a historical account of the Andes, beginning with early human history and continuing through the Inca Empire and the Spanish conquest. It also highlights the problems caused by Spanish rule in the region. The chronicle was intended as a plea for attention to the challenges faced by indigenous people under Spanish governance.
