About “Red Star”

Red Star is a science fiction novel by Russian scientist and writer Alexander Bogdanov, published in 1908. It is set in early Russia during the 1905 Revolution and on a fictional socialist society on Mars. The story follows Leonid, a Russian scientist-revolutionary who travels to Mars to study and share his world's revolutionary ideas. He is impressed by the technological efficiency and people of the Martian society. The novel was first published in St. Petersburg in 1908 and later republished in Moscow and Petrograd in 1918 and again in Moscow in 1922.
