About “Sazae-san”
Sazae-san is a Japanese yonkoma manga series created by Machiko Hasegawa. It first appeared in the Fukunichi Shinbun on April 22, 1946. In 1949, Hasegawa moved to Tokyo after the Asahi Shimbun requested her to draw the four-panel comic for their paper. The first Asahi Shimbun run of Sazae-san was published on November 30, 1949.
