When Marty Preston finds a young beagle named Shiloh in the hills behind his home, he forms a strong bond with the dog and decides to keep him hidden from Judd Travers, the dog's owner, who is known for drinking heavily and abusing animals. Marty's efforts to protect Shiloh lead to increasing tension and danger for himself and his family as Judd becomes aware of the dog's disappearance.
