About “Sir Quixote of the Moors”
In the mid-seventeenth century, Jean de Rohaine, a middle-aged French nobleman, travels to Scotland seeking adventure and a new beginning. He joins his friend Quentin Kennedy in a military campaign but becomes horrified upon discovering that the "battle" involves the massacre of unarmed religious dissidents known as "Covenanters," prompting him to flee into the moors, where he encounters Anne, a young woman in need of protection, and faces a personal struggle between his ideals and emerging feelings of love.
