The Stromata, attributed to Clement of Alexandria (a title sometimes rendered Stromateis, meaning "patchwork"), is the third of a trilogy of works on the Christian life, dating to the 2nd century. It aims at the perfection of Christian life through initiation into complete knowledge, drawing on Scripture and tradition. The oldest extant manuscripts date to the eleventh century.
