Sweet Bird of Youth is a 1959 play by Tennessee Williams. It follows Chance Wayne, a gigolo and drifter, who returns to his hometown with Alexandra del Lago, a faded movie star. Chance hopes to use her to help him enter the film industry. His main goal is to reclaim what he had in his youth, especially his old girlfriend, whom his father had driven out of town years earlier.
