About “The Beginning Place”

Hugh Rogers escapes his unfulfilling life and discovers "the beginning place," a gateway to Tembreabrezi, a peaceful world of eternal twilight. Irena Pannis, who found the place at age thirteen, has grown up in Tembreabrezi and sees Hugh as an outsider. When a monstrous shadow threatens the world, Hugh and Irena work together to confront it. As they journey together, they develop feelings for each other. Their partnership raises questions about whether they are heading toward a new beginning or a dangerous ending. The story explores themes of belonging, change, and the unknown.
