About “The Broken Road”
The Broken Road is the final part of Patrick Leigh Fermor's account of his 1933 journey across Europe, beginning in the Netherlands and continuing through various countries toward Constantinople. It details the latter portion of his walk, which he had promised to write but did not complete before his death in 2011, and was later compiled from his manuscripts by Artemis Cooper and Colin Thubron.
