About “The Corsican Brothers”

This fictional tale by Alexandre Dumas follows a character who travels through old Corsica, known as the land of the vendetta, and stays with the widowed Mme de Franchi. He discovers that her twin sons, who are now very different in their goals and views, were born joined together and share a deep psychological connection. When one feels pain, the other does too, regardless of distance. Lucien, who lives at home and wants to be a good Corsican, brings peace to conflicts, while Louis, who lives in Paris, becomes involved in a tragic and vengeful affair.
