Told through Churchill's eyes as British Prime Minister, it covers the Treaty of Versailles, the rise of Hitler, the capitulation at Munich, and Britain's entry into the war, drawing on memos, letters, orders, speeches, and telegrams. Churchill won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953.
