The third volume of Winston Churchill's six-volume The Second World War, describing the end of the period when Britain stood alone against Germany. It covers Hitler's decision to attack the Soviet Union and the bombing of Pearl Harbor, which brings the United States into the war, including Churchill's correspondence with Stalin and Roosevelt as the Grand Alliance is formed. Churchill won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953.
