The Teutonic Knights is a historical novel by Henryk Sienkiewicz, a Nobel Prize-winning author. It follows the journey of Macko, a wise veteran, and his nephew Zbyszko as they fight alongside the Polish and Lithuanian people against the Teutonic Knights. The story features characters such as Jurand, a vengeful warrior; Danusia, his innocent daughter; Jagienka, a skilled woman; and Hlawa, a witty squire. The novel includes vivid descriptions of landscapes, battles, and medieval customs. It culminates in the Battle of Grunwald, a pivotal moment in medieval history. The book was first published in America in 1900 but was not translated well until 1943, when a more accurate version was released in Great Britain. This translation was later revised by Miroslaw Lipinski.
