About “The last song”

Seventeen-year-old Veronica "Ronnie" Miller's life changed after her parents' divorce, when her father moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she remains distant from her parents, especially her father. Her mother arranges for her to spend the summer in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, is living a quiet life in the beach town, focused on creating a piece of art for a local church. The story explores themes of love, including first love and the relationship between parents and children. It is a heartfelt tale that shows how love can both hurt and heal, as only a Nicholas Sparks novel can.
