About “The scarecrow”

Jack McEvoy, a newspaperman at the LA Times, spends his final days at the newspaper investigating what he hopes will be the defining murder story of his career. He focuses on the case of Alonzo Winslow, a 16-year-old drug dealer who confessed to a violent murder and is now in jail. As Jack digs deeper, he becomes convinced that Winslow's confession is false and that the real killer is someone who remains hidden from the police. This killer moves undetected and seems to know every step the authorities take against him. The story is part of a novel by Michael Connelly.
