About “The Winter Vault”
In 1964, a newly married Canadian couple settles into a Nile River houseboat below the Abu Simbel temples, where the husband, Avery, works as an engineer on the relocation of the temples due to the Aswan Dam. The couple, Avery and Jean, create a private world of intimate moments while grappling with the loss of places and lives, but their bond is tested by tragedy, leading Jean to form a relationship with Lucjan, a Polish emigre artist, and ultimately find her own life.
