Camilla King travels to Thunder Heights, the family estate on the Hudson, after receiving an invitation from her ailing grandfather, Orrin Judd, whom she has never met. Upon her arrival, she encounters a household marked by tension and secrecy, including her grandfather’s suspicious aide, two aunts burdened by grief, and a cousin who lives off the family fortune, while a series of accidents leads her to suspect that her return may be part of a dangerous design reminiscent of her mother’s mysterious death.
