About “Time and again”
In the future, humanity has spread across the stars, but the star system 61 Cygni remains a mystery. All attempts to explore it have failed, and special agent Asher Sutton was sent on a solo mission. He never returned, and the system was forgotten. Twenty years later, Sutton returns, but his ship was damaged in a crash that should have killed him. He is not alone, and it is unclear if he is fully human. His return brings an idea that could change humanity's beliefs. Mankind has created biological androids to help hold the frontier. Made in labs, androids are sterile and cannot reproduce, but they are otherwise human-like. They are treated as property and marked on their foreheads. They long for recognition as equals. Asher's idea is the key to their hopes. He becomes the center of a struggle between three groups: present-day humans who fear change, future humans who use time travel to maintain the status quo, and future androids who want Asher's idea to take root.
