About “Tractatus Theologico-Politicus”

The Tractatus Theologico-Politicus (TTP) is a 1670 philosophical work written in Latin by Baruch Spinoza, a Dutch philosopher who lived from 1632 to 1677. It was published anonymously and became one of the most significant and controversial texts of the early modern period. The TTP aimed to free individuals from the constraints of superstition and religious authority. In the work, Spinoza presents his views on Jewish and Western Christian traditions and offers a critical examination of the Bible, with a particular focus on the Hebrew Bible.
