Twelve Months is an entry in Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series, following Harry Dresden, described as Chicago's only professional wizard. In the year after Harry and his allies narrowly saved Chicago from destruction, the city is left changed and struggling to rebuild, and Harry is coping with the loss of people he cared about. As ghouls prowl the city and his brother lies dying, Harry must also contend with the Winter Queen of the Fae allying with the White Court of vampires, a deal sealed by his betrothal to the vampire Lara Raith. The story asks whether, after grief and loss, enough remains of Harry Dresden the man to meet the challenge.
