Jim Butcher

Jim Butcher is an American author born on October 26, 1971, best known for creating The Dresden Files, a long-running urban fantasy series following Chicago wizard-detective Harry Dresden. He has also written the Codex Alera and Cinder Spires fantasy series, and is widely credited with helping define the modern urban fantasy genre. A martial artist and horseman, Butcher lives in Missouri and has described his path to publication as a long-odds journey he embraced from the start.
