About “Sāsanavaṃsa”
The Sāsanavaṃsa, also known as Thathanawin, is a historical account of the Buddhist order in Burma. Written by the Burmese monk Paññāsāmi in 1861, the text is composed in Pali prose. It draws upon earlier Pali and Burmese documents that still exist, though they had not been edited by the end of the nineteenth century.
