About “Casca: Panzer Soldier”
Casca: Panzer Soldier is a historical fantasy novel by Barry Sadler, first published in 1979, featuring the character Casca Rufio Longinus, a Roman legionary who drove the Holy Lance into the side of Jesus Christ on Golgotha. As punishment for this act, Casca is cursed with immortality and destined to wander the Earth as a soldier throughout history. The story is loosely based on the Christian legend of Longinus.
