About “Casca: The Defiant”
Casca: The Defiant is a historical fantasy novel in the Casca series created by Barry Sadler, first published in 1979. The story centers on Casca Rufio Longinus, a Roman legionary who is cursed with immortality after driving the Holy Lance into the side of Jesus Christ on Golgotha. As punishment for his role in the crucifixion, Casca is destined to wander the Earth as a soldier for eternity, awaiting the Second Coming.
