The Silence of the Library is set in Athena, Mississippi, where librarian Charlie Harris and his rescued Maine coon cat Diesel are drawn into a case during National Library Week. An exhibit honoring novelist Electra Barnes Cartwright, creator of the Veronica Thane series, draws fanatic mystery buffs when the reclusive author agrees to a rare public appearance, and rumors of unpublished manuscripts push one rabid collector toward murder to obtain rare books.
