James Michael Reaves was an American writer who worked as a script writer and story editor on several animated television series in the 1980s and 1990s, including Gargoyles and Batman: The Animated Series. He also wrote media tie-in novels, children's books, and original fiction. Reaves often collaborated with others, including his then-wife Brynne Stephens, Steve Perry, Neil Gaiman, and his daughter Mallory Reaves.
