About “Interesting Times”

"May you live in interesting times" is the worst thing one can wish on a citizen of Discworld—especially on the unmagical sorcerer Rincewind, who has had enough danger. When a request for a "Great Wizzard" arrives in Ankh-Morpork by carrier albatross from the faraway Counterweight Continent, Rincewind is sent as emissary. Chaos looms as the Agatean Empire's ruler is about to die, and someone believes Rincewind will play a mythic role in the coming war and bloodshed. Meanwhile, Cohen the Barbarian and his elderly Silver Horde plan to loot and pillage. Rincewind, however, believes there are too many heroes and only one Rincewind. He is determined to keep himself alive as long as possible.
